The import of elite seed in Armenia is expedient, but at the same time a strict control should be shown towards the Government.
While talking with “1in am news and analyses” Sargis edrakyan, the president of “Farmer’ movement”, said that a great pressure should be put on the Government and the Ministries in order to get the real good seed but not a trash.
“I doubt in 2 directions, first the villagers have not got the elite seed, secondly from these seeds are separated ones for the forage. Since the real seed is in average size, I doubt that they have given forage to the people, or other seeds of very poor quality. ” Said Sedrakyan and added that the persons who import the seeds in Armenia are the people of high position and our Ministry cannot put any pressure on them, or to control the situation.
“The control is needed, if there won’t be any control we better quit this program of importing seeds” said Sedrakyan in the end.
