Today started the 14th congress of the RPA. At the launch of the convention European People’s Party Wilfried Martens made a video-address.
The EPP President addressed in his speech to “the decisive conference, which is taking place before the most important RA presidential elections, not only for the Republican Party and our political family, but also for the future development of Armenia-EU relations.”
He reiterated the EPP’s complete trust to Serzh Sargsyan.
In his speech, the EPP President mentioned the recent EPP Eastern Partnership Summit, which took place in Yerevan and as a result of which they adopted the declaration reaffirming the importance of fundamental values and democratic standards.
“Dear RPA colleagues, you can rely on the support of the EPP. There will be forces resisting the changes. There will be people demanding faster changes. However, your reform agenda is the only trustable for the implementation of significant and sustainable changes in Armenia,” said the EPP President.
“We are all Europeans. Armenia belongs to the Europe. We share the same heritage, and, therefore, the same fate. Due to the RA President and Prime Minister’s works, the RPA has proven to be the leader for changes. I have no doubt that after two months the Armenian people will do the right choice to have consolidated democracy and subsequent changes in the country. I wish you a productive meeting and successful campaigning.” concluded Wilfried Martens.
