Yesterday, Speaker of the Parliament of Turkey Cemil Çiçek making a speech at a conference in memory of Heydar Aliyev, referred to the Armenian-Turkish and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. He mainly said that one of the conditions for regulation of the Armenian-Turkish relations is the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Vice President of the RA National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov responded to the Turkish official’s statement. “It is unacceptable to condition the regulation of the Armenian-Turkish relations with the resolution of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani conflict.” Edward Sharmazanov said that Turkey has nothing to do here.
Referring Çiçek’s observations that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the most serious threat to peace and stability in the Caucasus and Turkey is waiting for the Armenian leadership to get rid of its policy of Diasporas guardianship, the Vice President countered that the only reason of regional security threat is Turkey’s sponsor Azerbaijan, which preaches anti-humanistic values.
For Çiçek and the Turkish-Azerbaijani propaganda to know, Eduard Sharmazanov noted that Armenia and the Diaspora are one family and unity. He added that instead of just making ridiculous statements they should realize that Armenia and Diaspora will do everything for the international condemnation of the Armenian Genocide.
