Presidential elections in Armenia should pass so perfectly that later they had no complaints about the election results. It was announced on December 14, by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski at a joint press conference with colleagues from Sweden and Bulgaria in Yerevan.
“These elections must exclude the possibility of even a tiny charge. This is very important from the point of the upcoming summit of “Eastern Partnership” in2013, in Vilnius, “- he said.
The minister called on Armenia to make every effort to complete negotiations on the Association Agreement before the summit. Sikorski said that the signing of the agreement on simplification of visa regime between Armenia and the European Union is expected for December17.
Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov, in his turn, said that the peaceful development of the South Caucasus region is of strategic importance for the EU. Speaking about the upcoming elections, Mladenov said: “We will carefully monitor the elections, to see a significant improvement from the past. Let’s hope that this trend will be sustained, in order the Armenian authorities not only to improve relations with the EU, but also to ensure economic growth and prosperity in the country. ”
Foreign Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt, speaking of the “Eastern Partnership”, noted that different participating countries fixed more or less progress.
