On December 14, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with the Polish, Swedish and Bulgarian Foreign Ministers Radoslaw Sikorski, Carl Bildt and Nikolai Mladenov.
Welcoming the guests, the RA Minister said that Armenia is connected with Poland, Sweden and Bulgaria by the old traditional friendly relations, but currently there is effective cooperation at bilateral and multilateral formats. The Minister stressed the importance of cooperation within the Eastern Partnership initiative.
The MFA press office informs “First News and Analyses” that during the meeting they touched upon the extensive agenda of Armenia-European Union cooperation and observed that there is quite good progress in a number of areas and reaffirmed the appropriateness of deepening and expanding cooperation within the Eastern Partnership.
Both sides stressed the importance of completing negotiations on the EU-Armenia Association Agreement, including a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, by joint efforts at the Eastern Partnership Summit, to be held in Vilnius in November 2013.
Minister Nalbandian noted that Armenia is determined to continue the implementation of large-scale reforms in line with European standards.
There have been talks on a number of international and regional issues. In particular, they exchanged views on the situation in Syria and the latest developments in the Karabakh peace process.
