According to the statement, made during the first Caspian Corridor Conference in London, International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) has joined TheCityUK and became the first member of the organization from the Caspian region.
Note that the conference was organized by CityUK in cooperation with IBA and the Asia House.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to expand the corporate relations between Azerbaijan and Great Britain,” IBA Chairman of Board Jahangir Hajiyev said during the conference. TheCityUK team’s professionalism contributes to the promotion of high standards of business conduct in tandem with the growth of a new market.”
TheCityUK Director General Chris Cummings has expressed his gratification that the IBA has agreed to join TheCityUK. “IBA is a bank that brings invaluable experience from the Caspian corridor to TheCityUK”, he said.
He added that the Caspian region is attractive for investors due to several reasons, including the “youth” of the nation, the rate of GDP growth and reforms to liberalize the economy conducted by the governments of the regional countries.
