The Syrian problem, besides being on the plane of global, universal politics, became a test paper on Armenian plane as well, from the point of view of vitality of state politics. It is not that Armenia should have taken some steps to have certain role or influence on Syrian issue. It is just about the Armenian part of the Syrian problem, if we can define the problem of Syrian-Armenians in that way. At the same time this part is not just about bringing Syrian-Armenians to Armenia for them to be safe. That is, it is not only about sending an airplane or not, raising the ticket prices, making the questions of visa and passport easier. These are important questions and after the social protests and active claims the authorities got engaged in solving them at least partially and considerably late.
But besides these questions, there is another one-the integration of Syrian-Armenians, which the authorities in Armenia do not deal with, and are not ready to. The matter is that, coming to Armenia; Syrian-Armenians don’t get any organized help while they must be met at the airport by psychologists and representatives of social services. Syrian-Armenians may refuse such help, they may not need it, but if there is even one person needing psychological assistance, he must get it on spot immediately. People leave their homes and come to Armenia, to their motherland, but at the same time they enter new environment, face new way of thinking, completely different art plane and they even do not know what will happen to their home and property. This creates a difficult psychological situation for a person, and he needs help even not realizing it and only when he has got this help he will realize its positive impact. And their integration problem is mainly dependant on this psychological matter as well.
And what about social services, they must be given to the Syrian-Armenians at the airport, there must be stations where the newly arrived Syrian-Armenians could turn to and get the necessary information, advice and certain assistance, food, a place to live for several days. This must have been the expression of the least organized help that a more or less mature country respecting itself and its citizens must give.
On that account, the present situation, the dissatisfaction of those arrived in Armenia show that Armenia as a state was not able to solve these minimal problems and this in the case when the flow of Syrian Armenians continues by hundreds and thousands and not by more yet. Perhaps, it is because of this situation that many of them do not want to come to Armenia knowing that they will not get any attention.
