The creation of opposition will empower the international poistion of NKR. This thought was expressed by the FormerMinister of Foreign Affairs of NKR Arman Meliqyan in the interview with “1in.am News and Analysis”. “Artsakh surely needs an organized, practical opposition with clever projects that could, finally, express public opinion irrespective of the fact whether the authorities like it or not.” – he said.
Arman Meliqyan finds it important that all the officers included in that body should take part in the solutions of problems in Artsakh. “Anyhow, the leader is very important, but it is no less important that he were surrounded by a team of people thinking the same way, and that each of them had his own role and value and they all could direct the political, public life of Artsakh as well as have impact on the foreign political approaches. That is to say, I don’t want it to be a party of one person”, he said.
It is of great importance that all the regions of Artsakh actively participated in the programs of that body. For instance, the regions Qashatagh and Berdzor are inhabited by refugees. “It is important to keep equality in that point as well. This can also be an example for Armenia, as there is a painful problem of putting difference between people from this or that region. Artsakh does not have the right to do such disintegration”, he noted.
“I give it importance from the point of view of creation of extra guarantees of Artsakh security. Today Russia is ready to chaffer with Azerbaijan over the freed regions and give their control to Azerbaijan for ensuring their strategic and even military presence in Azerbaijan. On that account neither Armenia, nor Artsakh have enough power to resist. But the practical and active opposition can influence on country’s political and public behavior. They can at least create an atmosphere of intolerance in giving the freed regions”, he mentioned.
According to Meliqyan due to opposition the international prestige of NKR will increase and additional guarantees will be created for authorities.
