On November 14 Republican MP Hovhannes Sahakyan and MP from “Heritage” faction, Zaruhi Postanjyan had a press-conference and talked about the upcoming presdentiall elections and current political situation.
Republican MP announced that their party is seriously preparing for the upcoming presidential elections.
However, Postanjyan stressed that Armenia is in a bad and puzzled situation and naturally there can’t be a normal situation in the country which doesn’t have democracy.According to Postanjyan, PAP must decide and give a final announcement. It should be clear whether PAP is an opposition or they will support the president.
During the conference Postanjyan also talked about PAP’s offer concerning the change in the governmental system, and according to her it is not offered by PAP, but by Kocharyan, a single politician.
“I should stress that they could make that offer some years ago and we should have supported them, but they didn’t make any official offer to us” said Postanjyan adding “Moreover, currently I think that Kocharyan and Sargsyan work separately in order to realize their ideas and take the control of the power again. So I think that PAP may “play a game” in these elections”.
Republican MP in his turn aid that if there can be any issue where they will have the same ideas on it, he will be glad to cooperate with the opposition.
