Below is the speech of Margaret Yesayan in the National Assembly addressing authorities not to cheat and lie to our nation.
“In the pre-election conditions some political forces are getting infected with a number of usual diseases, such as being big-hearted, cajoling and persuading people, and showing themselves as angels and spatter others. In this motivation the most unacceptable thing for me is the motivation to speculate someone else’s grief and tragedy.
Words outdate and vanish, but their response remains, people have a memory, so do not underestimate our society’s memory.
You were exploiting grief. Two ad hoc committees were formed to examine tragic events of March 1, but you make a political tool also out of it and you go on to manipulate, speaking about the new committee.
You are not honest, gentlemen, and I am not the one to say it. Today I read in the press interviews with parents of March 1 victims; they are disappointed in you.
The cruelest thing is to lose people’s faith, do not try to go further, gentlemen, you do not have a place to go, there is a man in front and he is behind too.
You did not seem to make conclusions and pretend again to stand in front of our society. And do not try to muddy the water again, this time it will not be forgiven and you will be judged by the ruthless society.”
