Today a protest action was held in front of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, in support of two citizens of Armenia, which, according to the protesters, are unreasonably detained in Russia for 7 months and are isolated without any proof.
The protesters, whose number could reach several tens, were relatives of the arrested Hamlet Alexanian and Edgar Martirosyan, who came from Lori and Aragatsotn regions. They were asking Ambassador to intervene to hold a fair trial.
According to the relatives initial charge was a rape with robbery, but when the lawyer required a medical examination for rape they refused, so only robbery is left. Besides, one of the girls said that there were 6 boys, and the other said- 4, which shows that here also is inadequacy.
It was also noted that in addition to this action, such a protest was held in front of the Embassy of Armenia in Russia, which has pledged to help, but no step had been taken.
