Yeghiazar of Aintap in his political analysis finds Serzh Sargisyan’s yesterday’s announcement in the General Prosecutor’s office “a demonstration of stick and carrot policy” aimed first of all at the attorney general Aghvan Hovsepyan.
The political analyst touches upon Sargsyan pointing to the successes that were recorded concerning money laundering indirectly refering to Vardan Oskanian case on one hand, and overall system failures on the other. The analyst notes that “Oskanian’s name was not pronounced in the president’s speech however the implication of context was clear. This is the first time”, Aintapcy goes on, “that the president, even if indirectly, nonetheless publicly takes the responsibility for this issue and speaks out on Oskanian case.”
“This is mostly interesting considering the announcements of the U.S. Ambassador in Armenia and PAP (Prosperous Armenia Party) on supporting Oskanian”, mentiions the analyst.
Eghiazar of Aintap also refers to the announcements made by the Republican Party members, according to whom if Oskanyan is found not guilty, those having initiated the case will be responsible (such announcement was made by Galust Sahakyan and Hovik Abrahamyan). “Thus, it turns out that Serzh Sargsyan criticizes Aghvan Hovsepyan harshly on the one hand, on the other hand he protects the attorney general from Hovik Abrahamyan and Galust Sahakyan, or from the Republican Party as such”, concludes the analyst.
