The results of the elections in Georgia do not mean that rapid positive changes will be in this country. This opinion was expressed by Director of the Center for Political Information Alexei Mukhin, at a regular meeting of “Rosbalt” political club on “Updated Georgia – economic partner or foe for Russia?”
“Currently, Georgia is an “economic hostage”, for which markets of Russia and Europe are closed. Even the main sponsor of the Georgian regime, like the U.S, is squeezed “- said Mukhin.
According to him, recently Mikhail Saakashvili has reoriented his economic policy towards Turkey and Israel. Thus it is unclear with what economic baggage Ivanishvili will lead the country. As for the incumbent Georgian President Saakashvili, the expert noted that though he “recognized the election results, he has not said his last word yet.”
Recall that, on the basis of counting of protocols, billionaire and head of “Georgian Dream” coalition Bidzina Ivanishvili has won the parliamentary elections in Georgia, by 54.85% of the vote.
