Member of Parliament and former Minister of Foreign Affairs Vardan Oskanian covered the issue of Armenia’s independence day and his memories of the event years ago on his Facebook page. “Yesterday, late in the evening a friend of me from U.S. now living in Armenia and finishing repairs of his house in Northern Avenue called me for me whiskey and cigar.”, writes Oskanian. “There was a beautiful scenery from the seventh floor of the building on Yerevan and Norther Avenue with people full in restaurants, walking along the streets. This took me back to 1990s, the Yerevan dark and cold. The feeling I had gave birth to two ideas: a) what I see in Northern Avenu is not Armenia and for every happy Armenian here stand 100 unhappy therewith no resource to make use of restaurants. It should be our goal to spread the city center lifestyle to the outskirts. I think this possible through correct work.”
Covering the issue of the retrospective look at the past Oskanian noted to clearly understand that every good achievement that Armenia has now did not come easy and were not supposed to come easy- “”what we today is the result of our nations devotion, courage and sacrifice”.
