Aram Manukyan, ANC member, was interviewed by an Armenian reporter and talked about Armenia’s achievements in 21 years.
“In 21 years according to me we have established a civilized and a good country. I think the most important achievements were the victory in Karabakh war and our independence. As I mentioned our county has all the potentials to become a very developed state, but, there is still a problem. Nowadays authorities don’t give people what they need; Our nation must feel that it is safe and can live in our country without a fear. Since such appropriate actions are not done from the government, a lot of Armenians leave the country, which is very bad and very dangerous. Unfortunately I must accept that our government is not working the way it should. ” stressed Manukyan.
Note, on August 23, 1990, Armenia declared independence, becoming the first non-Baltic republic to secede from the Soviet Union. When, in 1991, the Soviet Union was dissolved, Armenia’s independence was officially recognized, since 94.99 % percent of Armenians voted for the independence.
