Glendale news press reports that a 20-year-old Tujunga man was arrested Saturday after leading police on a high-speed pursuit in North Glendale — at one point allegedly hitting speeds in excess of 80 mph on residential streets, officials said.
The man, Raymond Gharibian, was arrested just after midnight after he was briefly able to elude officers before getting spotted by a police helicopter.
After Gharibian failed to pull over for a traffic infraction on Glenoaks Boulevard, officers activated their patrol car’s lights and sirens as they followed him into the neighborhood of Glenwood Road, where he allegedly traveled at speeds in excess of 80 mph and drove through three stop signs.
Soon after, the police helicopter reportedly found Gharibian and his passenger walking away from his BMW.
He allegedly told police he fled because he was driving on a suspended license, which he got for failing to appear in court for a traffic violation.
