Armine Avetyan, analyst from “1in.am news & Analyses” touched upon the issue of forgiving state debts noting that in post soviet period RF has forgiven the debts of many countries to the Soviet Union, like that of Korea, Afghanistan, Algeria, Cuba. “Till today Armenian society inquires why Russia didn’t forgive the Armenian debt, which was nothing in comparison with the debt of the other countries.” , questions Avetyan.
For the project “Property for debt” I accuse the president of RA of that period not Russia, said the president of “Republic” party Aram Sargsyan in the interview with “First Armenian News and Analysis”.
According to him “Property for debt” project is the rudest and anti-national step that RA authorities could execute. “I have no right to demand morals from Russia. It follows its state profit. For keeping their chairs, the authorities of RA of that period gave the property in exchange for debt.”- added A. Sargsyan.
Whether Armenia had a way to avoid that project, he answered that according to Putin’s announcement this is the project of RA president. According to A. Sargsyan’s words RF has no plans to revitalize the factories, as it doesn’t even develop its own economy being a country basing its economy on natural resources.”-concluded Sargsyan.
