An official Turkmen source said that a delegation from Turkmenistan will go to Yerevan on September 5 to attend the fourth meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Armenian commission on economic cooperation, which was signed by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The source also informs that at the government meeting the Turkmen leader said that Turkmenistan attaches special importance to building mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries, including Armenia and added that the joint intergovernmental commission plays an important role in this.
Berdimuhamedov noted: “”Our country will continue stepping up a constructive dialogue with all interested parties, promoting the development of mutually beneficial economic relations between the regional states and the world. On approval of the composition of the Turkmen side in the Turkmen-Armenian commission on economic cooperation”.
Earlier in 2010, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan had a special visit to Ashgabat saying that Armenia is interested in the purchase of Turkmen electricity. During the meeting agreements were signed in the humanitarian, economic and trade areas.
The two countries have experience of cooperation in the field of electricity supply through Iran.
