“Armenia” pan-Armenian fund in cooperation with “Union of Armenian doctors in France” executed ophthalmologic program in 21 communities of Ashotsq, Shirak region.
From August 12th till August 17th 262 children with sight disorders of pre-school and school age passed an examination in the framwork of the program. By means of modern equipment given by “Union of Armenian doctors in France” diagnoses were done and corresponding glasses were given to children. Together with doctors, technical experts have also arrived to Armenia to fix the glasses on the spot.
The parents of the examined children gratefully spoke about the project. “Without going out of the village we could know our children’s state and get theglasses.” – said one of the inhabitants.
The elderly people were also examined. As a result of primary examination done by the village nurses, 861 people older than 60 got optical glasses.
