National Administration of Tourism of Georgia told Trend that this year more people have visited Georgia, comparing to same period last year.
Turkey ranks first in terms of the number of foreign visitors to Georgia. About 810,698 Turkish citizens visited Georgia during the period, which is 107 percent more compared to the same period last year (391,937 people).
According to the information Azerbaijan ranks the second – 483,317 (up 29 %)
Armenia ranks third – 408,109 (up 22 percent, 335,290).
The source adds that the number of foreigners who visited Georgia for January-July 2012 has also increased by 54 percent compared to the same period in 2011 (1.438 million) and amounted to 2.211 million.
Some 1.187 million people from the CIS countries arrived in Georgia, which is 32 percent more compared to the same period last year (896,338). Some 19,315 U.S. citizens visited Georgia, which is 19 percent more compared to the same period last year (16,189).
About 237,950 people from Russia visited Georgia for the 7 months, which is 81 percent more compared to same period last year (131,730).
