INEOS chairman Jim Radcliffe could cut 300 jobs at the club after buying shares in Manchester United. The Guardian reports.
According to the source, the new boss will ask an external auditor to assess Manchester United’s structure and costs for extensive optimization. Radcliffe believes the 1,000-strong workforce could be cut by 25-30%. Employees understand that a change in ownership structure means rethinking the number of employees and departments.
On December 24, the English “Manchester United” announced an agreement on its official website, according to which Jim Radcliffe will acquire up to 25% of United’s B and A class shares. It is also reported that INEOS will provide an additional 270 million euros for future investments in Old Trafford.
