As part of the visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the delegation led by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan, visited the training center for teachers of vocational schools in Iran.
Minister Mkrtchyan, Head of the Unified Social Service Eduard Petrosyan, Head of the Primary (Vocational) and Secondary Vocational Education Department of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Armenuhi Poghosyan and other members of the delegation, accompanied by the structure’s director Mehrdat Azimi, toured the institution and got acquainted with the educational process. To the specifics of the organization, to discuss the possibilities of experience exchange and, if necessary, localization in this direction.
Referring to the functions and priorities of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the minister noted that cooperation with Iran is also essential in medium professional and craft areas. Narek Mkrtchyan emphasized that there is an excellent potential for developing sectoral cooperation between the two countries and expressed confidence that it will be thoroughly used.
Mehrdat Azimi briefly presented the main directions of the center’s activities. According to the latter, the main works in the fields of industry, agriculture, service provision, as well as art and culture are being carried out in the direction of the development and development of various standards and to suggest to the Armenian side to combine efforts also in the field of secondary vocational education in the direction of training relevant specialists, assessing the abilities of system employees and trainers. In this context, establishing a secondary vocational and craft center in Syunik (together with the Ministry of Education and Culture) was considered, which will also contribute to the exchange of experience and joint training between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to form an appropriate working group to discuss the issue and sign a memorandum.
