Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi received the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, and the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan, Khalaf Khalafov.
During the meetings, Raisi stated that preserving the region’s borders and geopolitics is essential. Iran welcomes regional negotiations in the 3+3 format or works in any other form that can help solve the problems and resolve the differences between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
At the same time, he emphasized the need to protect the rights of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh. He said Iran is ready to help Azerbaijan and Armenia solve their problems through dialogue.
Raisi said that strengthening stability in the Caucasus depends on the cooperation of the countries of the region, which, according to him, are capable of solving all problems. He added that extra-regional countries are not beneficial to the region’s countries, and regional geopolitics should remain unchanged.
