The Minister of Defense of Iran stated that maintaining the region’s countries’ territorial integrity and international borders is one of Iran’s red lines. The minister announced this during a meeting with the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Regarding regional developments, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation said that Russia is active in regional issues and the cooperation of a large country like Iran can contribute to the security and stability of the region.
Shoigu welcomed the 3+3 format for solving the problems of the Caucasian region. He defended Iran’s positions regarding the events in the Caucasus, criticized the presence and activities of extra-regional countries, and emphasized the importance of solving the region’s problems with the participation of regional countries.
