Matthew Miller, the spokesperson of the US Secretary of State, referred to the Armenian-American military exercises, stressing that they are carried out within the framework of state partnership and are unrelated to any other operation.
“We regularly train and operate side-by-side with our partners to maintain combat readiness and continually improve interoperability between our armed forces. Armenia is a long-standing partner of the United States and has maintained strong relations with the Kansas National Guard since 2003 within the State Partnership Program of the Department of Defense framework. So, no, it is an ordinary exercise, which is in no way related to any other activity,” he said.
Regarding Russia’s response, Miller noted: “I think that given that Russia has invaded the territory of two of its neighbors in recent years, it should refrain from lecturing the region’s countries about security measures.”
