A landslide occurred yesterday in Oni municipality of Georgia, in the Shov resort area, near the “Sunsent Shov” hotel. According to the official data available at the moment, six people died as a result of the natural disaster. Rescuers found two of them yesterday.
Search and rescue operation is continuously being carried out in Oni municipality for the second day, involving around 400 firefighters and employees of different Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia divisions. Today, two border police helicopters were engaged in rescue operations from 06:00.
According to Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, contacting 35 people in the disaster area is impossible.
