“Georgia will not be subject to EU policy, as it is not a member of the organization,” Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili told reporters on Friday in response to the criticism of the EU regarding the resumption of flights from Russia.
“We need to be a member of the EU to comply with the EU policy. Today we are not yet a member of the European Union; it will take years for that,” said Gharibashvili.
The head of the government once again noted that the restoration of air communication with Russia was the right decision, stressing that the airlines’ planes under Western sanctions would not fly to the republic.
