The Swiss government has decided to start an administrative procedure to confiscate the assets of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych’s comrades-in-arms, which were frozen in the country after the February 2014 revolution in Ukraine. It is about 130 million Swiss francs (131.7 million euros in recalculation), reports the website of the Swiss government.
In Bern, they believe that these funds are of illegal origin. “By starting the procedure of confiscating them, Switzerland supports Ukraine,” the press release emphasizes.
