On January 27, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland, Tordis Kolbrun Gilfadottir.
Minister Mirzoyan congratulated his colleague on assuming the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
During the telephone conversation, reference was made to the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh due to Azerbaijan’s blocking of the Lachin Corridor. Ararat Mirzoyan highly appreciated the precise position of Iceland’s Foreign Minister Þórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir, as the chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Ministers, regarding blocking the blocking of the Lachin Corridor.
Taking into account the day-by-day worsening situation, the Armenian side emphasized the international fact-finding mission to Nagorno-Karabakh and Lachin Corridor to assess the humanitarian crisis.
The parties also discussed issues related to the deepening and expansion of Armenia-Iceland bilateral cooperation.
