In August 14, the Armenian-Romanian joint stamp releasing ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the Romanian Academy, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Hachkatar monastery near the Suchava city and patriarchal visit of the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II.
RA MFA press office informs “1in.am News and Analyses” that the guests of honor for the ceremony are His Holiness Patriarch and Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Korlatsean. Catholicos was accompanied by prelate leaders of Romania, France, U.S. Eastern Diocese, New Nakhichevan, Russia and Bulgaria.
After welcoming remarks of the Vice President of Romanian Academy Dan Berindey, the head of “Romfilateliayie” Mrs. Christina Popeskun invited Catholicos Garegin II and Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Korlatsean to open joint stamp panel. Then speeches were made by the Minister Titus Korlatsean, Ambassador of Romania Hamlet Gasparyan, as well as the head of “Romfilateliayie” Mrs. Christina Popeskun and the head of Armenian Union in Romania Varuzhan Voskanyan. At this important event the Catholicos of All Armenians said the blessing and appreciation in his speech.
“The release of the joint stamp is another evidence of the long-term peaceful coexistence of Armenia and Romania. Today Hachkatar monastery in Romania is not a holy place only for Armenians and neighboring countries, but also for the thousands of locals who connect the execution of their desire with the monastery,” said Ambassador Gasparyan in his speech.
“The Armenian-Romanian heritage is naturally a part of the general European and universal values and lead us to the overall goal- united, peaceful, and secure Europe and in a broader sense of peace, safety and harmony,” said the Ambassador of Armenia.
“Romfilatelia Company” and “HayPost” implemented the joint stamp with the active support of the Embassy of Armenia in Romania.
