Official sources report that eighteen villages have been intercepted from the outside world in the Khada Gorge in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of Eastern Georgia as a result of intense snowfall.
According to Georgian media, because of continuous snowfall it is not yet possible to begin clearing roads.
There is also no gas supply to the villages due to damages on gas pipeline.
Snow depth in the region is up to one meter.
