As was mentioned after the announcement of the ANC leader not putting his candidacy in the upcoming presidential elections in 2013, the leader of the “Conservative” party Mikayel Hayrapetyan announced his party’s withdrawal from the ANC. He thanked the ANC for previous achievements and successes and stated the party will be engaged in the establishment of the rule of law in the country.
Aram Manukyan stated there is no need to get excited, since the Armenian National Movement (ANM) and the ANC will have their stay. There will be congresses, discussions, announcements in the future and the ANC is not collapsing. ANM member Yerdjanik Abgaryan who was stating Ter-Petrosyan will put his candidacy did not want to comment anything. Sasun Mikayelyan who was also stating Ter-Petrosyan’s candidacy a definite thing, stated Ter-Petrosyan already commented and explained everything.
Aram Karapetyan, the head of the “New Times” party stated this is a political process of boycotting the elections. He said what happened should have happened much earlier because a 70 years old man no matter his smartness cannot run the country. Karapetyan said everything went to fail when the ANC started to speak on the political intrigues language. In this case not many changes become possible. To the question who will be Ter-Petrosyan’s alternative, Karapetyan answered it will be clear after the holidays.
