In Armenia it is forbidden to cut and sell Christmas and pine trees and in order not to do it, Armenia imports Christmas trees from Germany.
According to the Ministry of Environment, in 2012 Germany exported 320 Christmas trees to Armenia.
Note, a year ago, the number of imported trees was 150.
As you know, every year trees are cut before Christmas, but according to Armenia’s chief forester Ruben Petrosyan, this year there wasn’t any such occasion of tree-cutting.
Petrosyan also noted that in case of cutting such tree there will be a fine, and it depends from diameter of the tree.
