Minister of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan Yaver Jamalov told country’s media that in seven years Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Ministry opened nearly 45 new producing areas.
As reported, the minister also noted that the production of new sniper rifle of 23mm caliber will start in Azerbaijan in the first half of 2013.
“Production of 20-mm shells for armored technique is being held successfully and Azerbaijan will be able to fully ensure its demand in this ammunition. The work over creation of armored intelligence vehicles, mobile reactive shells is successful. The works on increased the range of fire visibility from mine launchers produced in Azerbaijan are also successful”, Jamalov said.
While commenting on accusations of Armenian side that most of the military production of Azerbaijan copy foreign samples, the minister noted that the satemant must be ignored.
