Reporter of “First News and Analyses” Eghiazar Aytaptsi notes in his article that Gagik Tsarukyan’s silence, and especially the version of not running, which has been circulating in recent days, and which is not denied by the PAP, put Robert Kocharian and Levon Ter-Petrosyan in rather awkward situation. It seems Tsarukyan was their connecting link.
At the same time he writes that even if there is no binding link, Ter-Petrosyan’s and Kocharyan’s interests will remain and they may cooperate with each other.
“Today the interests of Ter-Petrosyan and Kocharyan coincide, and therefore, when Tsarukyan is out, the first and second presidents should strive to find a new connecting link. So we have an interesting situation: on the one hand- searching of new connections that will allow them to come together in the presidential election, on the other hand- the so-called divergent searching of private insurance options.”
The reporter notes that this opposite circumstance, of course, is a very inefficient way to make the search of a joint option. Moreover, the options here are not great. “One option is Ter-Petrosyan to run and Robert Kocharyan to use its resources to support him. The other option is Vardan Oskanian, in the case of which, however, it is necessary to split the PAP.”
According to Eghiazar Aytaptsi this will be a convenient option for Serzh Sargsyan to completely neutralize the PAP by means of Ter-Petrosyan and Kocharyan.
