Azerbaijani media reports that US embassy in Baku has expressed attitude to the Iranian-Armenian project of construction of a hydroelectric power station on trans-border river Araz.
“We are observing all statements about the activity, potentially subject to the sanctions and are ready to work with the countries in case of emerging concerns related to their actions”, sources in the US diplomatic mission said in response to the request in the embassy which noted the implementation of a joint project on construction of hydroelectric power station on Araz.
As reported, the request of the publishing house noted the need to watch this situation in connection with international sanctions against Tehran.
Note, through Iranian financing, Iran and Armenia started construction of two hydroelectric power stations on the border river Araz, one of which will be passed to the full property of Armenia in 15 years and five-year construction will take about $324million.
