NATO’s Allied Land Forces Commander, General Frederick Ben Hojs stated that an attack on Turkey would be qualified as an attack on the NATO border.
“As for the problem of deployment of anti missile patriot complexes on Turkey’s border with Syria, NATO is already considering this issue. Patriot systems are defense systems, which prevent air attacks. They will not be placed to create aggressive or flight zones. The problem of deployment of Patriot systems should be assessed positively by all 28 member states, but I do not see any reason that any country should reject Turkey. Turkish border is NATO’s border. ”
