Official sources report that Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania announced today that from 2013 his department will not finance President Mikheil Saakashvili’s private aircraft.
“We cannot afford such a luxury, to pay monthly 800 000 lari (about 485,000 dollar). It is incorrect and inappropriate, “said the minister.
According to Alasania, the money will be used for the needs of soldiers and officers.
Note that Saakashvili uses “Challenger” type of aircraft to travel in the country and abroad.
