Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mohsun Pakayin, while talking with Azerbaijani journalists said that relations between Iran and Azerbaijan are at fine level and developing.
He reminded that the recent visit of the Azerbaijani foreign minister to Iran and participation at the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, the following visit of the Iranian president to Azerbaijan and meetings held within the Baku meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization are indications of relations between the two countries.
“All this shows that the will of heads of state of the two counties is directed to development of our cooperation. Therefore, I see a bright future of our relations” said the ambassador adding “Of course, some issues can occur between the two neighbor counties. But let’s take into account that there is always interest for discussions, and such issues always find their solution.”
Referring to the discontent of Azerbaijan of Armenian-Iranian relations, the ambassador said that their main goal is to ensure stability in the region.
“This is because when we have relations with the both countries, we can at any time play the role of mediator in resolving the conflict. Iran’s relations with Armenia are in no way contrary to Azerbaijan, and do not threaten Azerbaijan” said the ambassador.
