On October 30, on his official visit to the Czech Republic, the president of RA NA Hovik Abrahamyan had a meeting with the president of the Czech Republic Senate Milan Štěch. He congratulated the Czech people and the members of Senate on their national holiday and expressed his confidence of deepening and developing the bilateral ties between the two parliaments. Hovik Abrahamyan highly appreciated the Czech Republic MFA stance on Safarov case which had passed a strictly condemning resolution on this incident.
In his turn, the president of the Czech Republic Senate expressed his gratitude for accepting the invitation and highly appreciated the bilateral friendly ties the two parliaments have. Milan Štěch particularly underlined the significance of the democratic changes Armenia currently undertakes. Referring to Safarov case, Štěch stated that Hungary’s step might have been a mistake or negligence but Azerbaijani president’s step was against all the international criteria. “It is inadmissible that the murderer is set free and is accepted as a hero by the whole nation,” the president of the Senate mentioned.
