Executive Director of Armenian National Committee of America (Eastern Region) Michel Hakobian in Capitol Hill expressed concerns of Armenians to the U.S. lawmakers. This was reported by the Armenian National Committee of America. Michelle Hakobian was in Washington for the Committee cases, as well as to hold meeting with local community members.
Director of Legislative Affairs of the Committee Raffi Karakashian accompanied Hakobyan to the Congress. Together they visited the 7 congressional offices, covering 5 states in the eastern region- Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island.
During the meeting with legislators Karakashian and Hakobian stressed the importance of several issues, such as the recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijani aggression. They also expressed their gratitude to the members of Congress for the support on the resolution concerning the Armenian Genocide and restore of Armenian churches.
