After being elected at the electoral district No. 35, MP Samvel Balasanyan announced that he is going to nominate his candidacy on September 9 for the Gyumri mayor’s election. The main intrigue is who will replace Balasanyan and enter parliament. It has become known that Hayk Sultanyan, the head of Gyumri Beer Factory, will also run his candidacy. However, soon he rejected his nomination, and most likely Arman Sahakyan will want to run this time. We should note that earlier, he had run for electoral district No. 34, but he lost to the “Prosperous Armenia” member Martun Grigoryan.
The correspondent of “1in.am News and Analyses” tried to speak with the people of Gyumri and find out what they think about the forthcoming elections. “I am not very interested who will be elected. The important thing is that people need the one who will be ready to help, and it doesn’t matter it will be Balasanyan, or someone else,” said Gyumri resident Mamikon Surenyan. Some other people said that the change of persons and faces will not change anything and there is the need of the global changes.
