A while ago in front of the presidential residence there was launched a campaign in support of imprisoned ANC activists and ANC released activist Tigran Arakelyan.
ANC activist and publicist Zara Hovhannisyan noted in her speech the decision about ANC activists is made by the president. ANC activists assess this as a disgrace. She noted that their demand was to defend the ANC, to release Tigran Arakelyan, close the criminal case against the other activists and to punish the police who gave false testimony against the young people. Zara Hovhannisyan finished her speech, urging everyone to join the fight. Coordinator of the ANC Levon Zurabyan recalled in his speech that today was the 4th anniversary of their formation.
“We need to somehow celebrate ANC’s birth anniversary. Today we are celebrating the anniversary by struggling, and we will fight till the end for the most fundamental freedoms of people, and we are ready to go to jail for that purpose, and 4 years of our struggle can prove it,”said Zurabyan, adding that little time is left for the current regime and dictatorship.
At this moment, in front of the presidential residence there are more than 50 activists holding different posters: “I am Liberty,” “We do not tolerate,” “Freedom to political prisoners,” and one of the activists holds a big poster of Serzh Sargsyan with chained hands.
