During the assembly, the Fatherland and Honor Party will decide whether to stay in the ranks of the Armenian National Congress or not.
The party, which is a member of the Armenian National Congress, will invite a party assembly in August and will discuss the further actions. “1in.am News and Analysis” asked the head of the party Garnik Margaryan whether it is possible for the party to leave the ANC, taking into account the statements made by Davit Shahnazaryan.
“The supreme authority of the party is the assembly; he decided that in 2008 we should sign a declaration of congress. So it decides whether to stay or not. We will analyze the situation, discuss what to do, accordingly, it will be decided to stay or not”, said Garnik Margaryan.
He didn’t talk about the accusations made by Davit Shahnazaryan to the Congress’s administration, noting that “it is not solid”. But he also mentioned that every time when a person or a party leaves Congress, its position weakens.
We also got interested whether the policy of ANC is satisfactory for the fatherland and Honor Party, and Garnik Margaryan gave a negative answer.
He also mentioned that he is not satisfied with the situation which is in the country right now.
“We are at the edge of distraction. Nobody wants to think about it seriously. Our population is now 1.5 million people out of 4 million. What are we going to do when we are surrounded by the enemy? It doesn’t matter that the powerful countries try to prevent the war, but there is always a threat from Turkey.
I care about it. It took us 20 years of struggle in order to get a powerful country, and now we can’t talk about powerful country any more. Now more people leave Armenia than in 90’s. Our National security is endangered.”
