Georgian media reports that Georgian Foreign Minister, Grigol Vashadze and U.S. Deputy State Secretary, Bill Burns, had met in New York and discussed the issue of Russian military base located in Armenia.
According to Vashadze, the Russian military base, located in Gyumri, Armenia, brings “tension and threatens” the region.
As reported, during the meeting the sides talked about U.S-Georgia relations and about the upcoming elections, which will be held on October 1, in Georgia.
Note, the Russian military based is in Gyumri since 1995.
