“On these days 120 Syrian Armenians visited the ministry of Diaspora for various problems. 12 of them wanted a place to stay, and they were sent to migration service ” informs “Hraparak” and adds:
“According to Firius Zaqaryan, who deals with the problems connected with Armenians living in Syria, there are three groups of people who come from Syria. In one group there are people who come in order to have a vacation. This year they are more than ever. The other group of people comes to get dual citizenship. Only in 2012 the ministry of Diaspora has received about 3 thousand appliers for dual citizenship. Finally in the third group are the people who came because of the political conflict which exists in Syria.
The majority of this people want to go back to Syria, and they just come here to stay for a while until there will be a stable situation in Syria. Only 2-3 percent of people coming from Syria wishes to stay in Armenia.
In the close future the ministry of Diaspora wants to bring Armenian children from Syria and organize their vacation.
