On September 22nd a consultation took place in the Ministry of Diaspora headed by the minister Hranush Hakobyan with 30 Syrian-Armenians. The press service of RA Ministry of Diaspora reports that the aim of the meeting was to found an NGO coordinating the problems of Syrian Armenians. RA minister of Diaspora said in her speech that there are 4000 Syrian Armenians having a number of problems. The urgent issues are of social-economic character, which will be solved by the organization set up by the Ministry. The latter had made several legal reforms on easing the life of Syrian Armenians in the motherland.
«This doesn’t mean that the ministry will stop its mediation in the issues of Syrian Armenians.- assured the minister, – according to the president’s order the issues concerning the Syrian Armenians are in the center of attention of Ministry Diaspora as well as the government.»
According to the ministers decree the registration of the NGO «Center of coordinating problems of Syrian Armenians» has started in the Ministry of Justice.
The Syrian Armenians present at the meeting thanked the minister for the support.
