On September 23 in 5 Armenian regions, Aragacotn, Gexarkunik, Kotayk, Vayoc Dzor and in Tavush, the local governmental elections will be held. According to “168 zham” daily there are overall 2626 candidates for council membership, and 251 candidates for city’s mayor.
As reported, the upcoming elections, which will be tomorrow, are similar to the one which were on September 9.
The similarity is that the majority of the candidates belong to the Republican party. According to Eduard Sharmazanov, the deputy president of Armenia’s National Assembly, Republican, almost in every community there is a one candidate from Republicans.
PAP has also nominated a lot of candidates. According to the source there are 87 candidates from PAP.
ARF and the “Rule of Law” also have more candidates comparing with other parties, excluding PAP and Republicans.
