“168 Hours” daily had an interview with the president of the “New Times” party Aram Karapetyan. One of the main subjects discussed was Safarov’s extradition. To the question whether Hungarian authorities cheated Armenian authorities or the latter was just unable to prevent the extradition, Karapetyan answered that he had some news that a superpower country had promised to RA authorities not to let the extradition.
The speaker excluded the variant of Russia but noted one fact: “Edward Nalbandian may deny it, but due to the active measures of Russian Foreign ministry and some other powers, it was managed to avoid war short after the extradition, as the latter was executed to provoke war.”- said Aram Karapetyan.
The president of “New Times” explained that despite Russia’s late and not so strict reaction on Safarov’s affair, one must take into consideration that phone talks are of more importance in diplomacy than announcements. “Ask the Foreign Ministry, how many talks, how often and to whom E. Nalgandyan has spoken via phone?”- Karapetyan said.
