Eduard Sharmazanov, Deputy President of National Assembly published a personal statement on news.am touching upon the issue of Safarov affair. “The case of Safarov once again showed that the country’s specific forces are waiting for an opportunity to secure their power over the criticism. For example, one of the ridiculous criticism and repetitive interpretation of it is that “we were deceived”, moreover “they deceived us, as our country’s reputation is shattered.”
“First of all we must accept that we are really deceived. But we can’t say that we didn’t forecast it, though both Serzh Sargsyan and other officials stated that they were in connection with Hungarian sources till the last moment. Now there is nothing to demand from them. Most shameful is to doubt friends than to be deceived from them” stressed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly in his speech.
As for the Hungarian-Azerbaijan deal, Edward Sharmazanov said that this is not due to Armenia, but the Hungarian government’s shattered image. “Although Hungarian side is trying to prove to the world that they were deceived, it is obvious that they simply call Murakami’s famous words- “If you want to cheat on someone, cheat yourself first.””
“Today we see that the entire international community stand by our side, many countries and organizations express their support.” concluded the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
